Hi!
Today I will be talking about my experience using Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer. I will be splitting this review into 2 sections: 1 being Advantages and the other being Disadvantages, I will include a few images of what the applicator looks like and the packaging. Don't forget that this is my experience using this concealer so not all of my opinions may apply correctly to yours :)
This is an example of the letters rubbing off
Advantages:
- This is a long lasting concealer, it claims to last 16 hours although in my opinion is would last around 12.
- This concealer seems to be waterproof as I have tested this various times by swimming with it on and coming out of the water with still all of my concealer on, even though I wouldn't recommend you to go swimming with make-up on.
- The concealer lasts well on all skin types and seasons. During Spring and Summer I tend to have oily to combination skin and the concealer lasts well on me but for around 8 hours, slowly wearing off, this is due to the humid weather at this time of year. During Autumn and Winter I have dry to combination skin and the concealer also does last very well and for at least a full 12 hours but once again slowly wearing off, this is as the weather is a lot drier at this time of year helping the concealer to last longer.
- It is very easy to blend so it would be a great concealer for those who are beginners to make-up or just want something that will cover any blemishes and is easy to apply. It works well being applied with a make-up brush and fingers.
- This brings me onto the type of formula. It has a great consistency and isn't too runny but not too thick that it would look cakey.
- The packaging is very small so it takes up hardly any room in your make-up bag. It is also a plastic container so it is less prone into smashing like glass.
- The doe-foot applicator catches a lot of product making it easy to get product out. Also once the product is running out the applicator is very long so you can almost scoop out any remaining product.
- Finally it is a very affordable concealer at only £4.19 at boots.
This is what the applicator looks like
Disadvantages:
- This concealer does rub off easily if you have the tendency to touch your face a lot, so if you avoid that then you are fine.
- The concealer dries out fairly quickly after around 8 months, which I know sounds like a long time and that is great but at the end of 8 months, this is when it has definitely dried out.
- The writing on the packaging rubs off very quickly so if it get dirty and you just want to wipe it off, it will most likely rub off. The top bit of the packaging wear the lid screws on is very delicate, as when I went travelling it slightly broke a small slit into that top section and whenever I would close it, some of the concealer would come out, wasting the concealer every time I would use it.
- Another disadvantage with this concealer is the variety of shades. There is only 4: Fair, Cool Medium, Warm Medium and Dark. They are all very close to each other in shades so it is only suitable for those who a fair to possibly a few who are olive toned.
- My final point for the disadvantages is that I find the formula too thick to apply under your eyes as it can look too cakey and dehydrate under your eyes.
My shade is 3 Warm Medium
All in all this is a fantastic concealer as it is great for money and coverage. I would definitely recommend you to buy it, if you are struggling to find a concealer with a good full coverage and doesn't wear off after several hours of use.
I hope you enjoyed this review and thanks for reading!
